Witness the Fitness: Chris Sharma's craziest and hardest line

Bigupproductions.com reports that on March 13, Chris Sharma did the first ascent of Witness the Fitness, an incredible line in the Ozark Mountains of Arkansas that he's calling the hardest boulder problem he has done.

He describes it as "...a forty foot (12m) roof with a perfect jug at the beginning and a perfect topout, and a line of small edges and mushroom-shaped knobs connecting the two."
Although he generally does not grade his boulder problems, Sharma offered a comparison to the classic Hueco roof problem Esperanza (V14) which he did the third ascent of earlier in the winter.

"Witness is the craziest line I've ever seen that's been done", he said. "It has Esperanza-style roof climbing, but it's three times as long, and it has a harder crux that comes near the end."

The crux is reached after 12 long moves, and involves a super-powerful lockoff to a gaston in a shallow three-finger pocket, followed by a desperate, contorted cross-through to an undercling at full extension.

Chris also says that the main issue now is that it's on private property. Work is being done to get it opened, but anybody interested should be very covert. "We parked about a mile down the road after we dropped all the gear off as to not attract unwanted attention."
