After 3 weeks of battling, the German
Andreas Bindhammer succeded on the siurana testpiece
La Rambla,
9a+ on the 2nd of May.
With La Rambla is the 4th route above the 9th grade for Andreas that has previously climbed:
-
Abysse,
9a/+, at Deverse, Gorges du Loup, France, 2006
-
Ground Zero,
9a, Tetto di Sarre, Italy 2002
-
KinematiX,
9a, Gorges du Loup, France, 2001
Andreas got it on the 2nd of May, after trying it for 3 weeks (one of them really rainy).
La Rambla was first climbed by
Alex Huber in 1994, but, apparently, to a lower chain (if we didn't get it wrong! ->
read here) and graded 8c+.
Ramon Julian Puigblanque has then been the first to climb what is now known as
La Rambla (aka La Rambla original), and namely the 40m route just repeated by
Edu Marin ,
Chris Sharma, and
Andreas Bindhammer, and he suggested 9a+.
La Rambla ascents:
1.
Ramon Julian Puigblanque (8th of March 2003)
2.
Edu Marin (30th of November 2006)
3.
Chris Sharma (1st of December 2006)
4.
Andreas Bindhammer (2nd of May 2007)
